JOSE MOURINHO HAS BEEN SACKED BY MANCHESTER UNITED

Michael Carrick linked and who will be the new Man Utd manager? Follow the latest news and updates after the club announced Mourinho had left on Tuesday morning. Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Manchester United, a club statement on Tuesday morning said.
He leaves the club with United in sixth position in the table after their worst start to a top-flight campaign since the Premier League's inception in 1992.
“Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect.
“The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.
“A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.”
Michael Carrick will reportedly take training this week but it is not yet clear who will take charge of the team until the end of the season.
United's next fixture is against Cardiff in the Premier League on Saturday.
